The Summer Reading List
“The Summer Reading List”
It is time to start thinking of the summer reading list. I usually read voraciously in the summer, so I need a good number of books sitting by, waiting to be opened. Usually my summer reading consists of a number of “beach reads” since I want to stop and jump in the water every once in a while. I also use this time to read ahead a few months on my book clubs list of reads.
I have listed last years Brilliant Women’s Book Club reads for your summer reading pleasure. It contains a variety of different types of books, so I am sure you will find one on this list that you will like.
Over the next few weeks, I will give you a few of my favorite books from this list. I really was going to give you my all time three favorite books, but I just don’t think I can do that because I like too many. I also know that there is more out there that will become one of my favorites for a while.
Here is the list.
2012
Russian Winter by Daphne Kalotay
Caleb’s Crossing by Geraldine Brooks
The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon
Life on the Line by Grant Achatz
To be Sung Underwater by Tom McNeal
Passing by Nella Larsen
Alice Bliss by Laura Harrington
Cleopatra by Stacy Schiff
Timekeeper by Mitch Albom
Also, if you’d like to catch up to this year, you can add the following:
The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian
The Shoemaker’s Wife by Adriana Trigaiani
The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides
Girls of Tender Age by Mary-Ann Tirone Smith
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
What will you be reading this summer?
Best Reading,
