Q: Why did you choose these dogs?
Temperament. This breeder breeds for temperament. His dogs are mostly calm and very obedient.
Q: Do you talk to your dogs? If so, what do you talk about?
Of course I talk to the dogs, they are with me more than anyone else in the world. I talk to them about big decisions and also just how they are feeling.
Q: If they could talk to you, what would they say?
I think they would remind me that I am a really good caring person and that I should not sweat the small stuff.
Q: If your dogs had a job or career, what would they be doing?
Phoebe would be a psychologist/therapist. Sophie would be a leader in the NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) program.
Q: What lesson in life have your dogs taught you?
Only get stressed when it really matters otherwise a waste of energy, never miss a meal, and actively demonstrate how much you care about someone.
Q: How do your dogs inspire you?
Unconditional support and caring.
Q: Where are your dog’s favorite places to go with you?
I think the beach and swimming in the ocean. But they are both happy just to ride around in the car with me.
Q: Who or what do your dogs find the most interesting?
The dogs find new animals interesting. They do not bark they simply explore and try to make friends.
Q: What is the most annoying thing other dog owners do?
Pat your dog without asking, talk to my dogs in baby talk, they understand regular English.
Q: What does being a responsible dog owner mean to you?
Caring for all the dogs needs ahead of your own. Agreeing to put them out of misery when the time comes and not to be selfish keeping them alive when they are suffering.
Q: Do you ever dress up your dogs? If so, as what?
Only at Christmas as Santa clause and only to visit the units at the hospital.
Q: How have your dogs changed your life?
Completely changed my career path.
Q: Do your dogs have a philosophy of life?
Once you find someone to be loyal to, then be honest and true to that person forever.
Q: I love my dogs because they are simply awesome.
Q: Have you ever made dog treats for your dogs? If so, please share your recipe.
No- my guys will eat most treats.
WAGGLEVIEW®: These interviews are focused on leaders in business, the arts, the community, or at home. My hope in doing this is to present remarkable and respected people in their community with their beloved pets. Who can resist reading about pets and what these people do? This is a platform for people to display their talents; their own business, a new book, a deeply loved passion for a charity or their own job. It also shows their love for their pet!
Thank you Claire for taking the time to participate in the Waggleview®.
