Body is not just about exercise, food, and health. It is also about adornments to the body.

I thought I would share with you some beautiful jewelry that I have seen around lately. I love jewelry! I am partial to handcrafted, vintage and unique pieces.

The first piece I would like to share is a gold charm bracelet. I happened to see this on a lovely woman recently and I couldn’t help but take a picture of it. It is her grandmother’s charm bracelet, her mom’s charm bracelet and her own charm bracelet. I loved the fact that she was wearing all three!

You rarely see the old fashion charm bracelet anymore. When I see one, I am immediately drawn to it. The vintage charms are so unique and detail oriented. They can really tell a story too. Looking at a vintage charm, I can imagine the woman as a little girl who took ballet lessons, graduated from nursing school, got married, went to Paris on her honeymoon, had a baby and bought her first house. All of these milestones reflected in the charms of a ballerina, nursing cap, wedding bells, the Eiffel Tower, a baby buggy and a house with a front door that opens. Many charms today just don’t have that “charm” to them. They are flat and they all look the same.

My mom started me on a silver charm bracelet when I was 12 years old. It represents my travel bracelet as a young girl.

When I reached 30 years old my mom bought me a gold one with the head charms of my two daughters. This one represents milestones, and meaningful places for me now as an adult. I haven’t added to it lately since gold is very expensive and I am only looking for vintage charms now.

To carry on tradition, I started both of my daughters with a silver charm bracelet when they were little, perhaps someday I can give them a gold one too.
