Act of Kindness Day 18: Share Your Good News
“It’s the weekend again, and since you probably want to relax and unwind, here’s an easy one for a lazy Saturday: share some good news. Did something awesome happen at work this week? Did your nephew get accepted into college? Did your team make the playoffs? Big or small, good news is for sharing…”
Mission Accomplished: The good news is that Louie and I went to Quinnipiac University this past week as an animal assisted therapy team to help the students de-stress from final exams. Students at the North Haven campus found some calmness in petting Louie. Louie was one of three dogs on campus this past week. The students loved to pet and snuggle with the therapy dogs. The dogs also loved receiving all the attention.
While petting Louie, the students talked about their finals and asked about how Louie became a therapy dog. The distraction, along with kisses from Louie, made the students laugh and smile. Petting a dog made them feel happy and gave them an immediate stress relief.
Not only did the students and staff receive a positive effect from Louie, but watching their joy was a gift to me. I couldn’t help but smile too!
See you tomorrow for another AoK!
