“Act of Kindness Day 9: Surprise A Loved One”

“Today’s AoK is to do something surprising and thoughtful for someone you love, not because it’s a special day, but because they’re a special person.”
Who will you surprise?

Mission Accomplished: I was very excited to surprise a loved one today, however, it didn’t work out as well as I thought. I wanted to surprise my daughter with a nice dinner. She is starting to study for finals at graduate school, so I thought it would be nice for her to pick up a good meal at a restaurant of her choice. Well, she never called me back, so I wasn’t able to do it. I decided to change her sheets and make her bed here at home. That is usually her job, but I thought why not surprise her and have it done when she gets home for the holidays.

I also decided to surprise my husband by organizing the bag of lost socks. This is a horrible job! It takes forever, since the socks seem to multiple by themselves. Usually we do it together and he complains the entire time. So, today I tackled it by myself. Surprise!

I wanted the surprises to be some big sweeping gesture of kindness, however, sometimes it’s just the small things that count.
